I’m Emma, your pregnancy yoga guide.
After a trying conception journey, I was thrilled to be pregnant. But then, I was shocked how uncomfortable and vulnerable I felt.
Pregnancy yoga was my saving grace. It soothed and helped me connect with my achy, foreign-feeling body. It offered me tools for softening, relaxing, and surrendering. And it made me feel strong and capable leading up to and during birth.
Hi there! I’m Emma, a yoga teacher of many years specializing in pre- and post-natal yoga. I’m so excited to share the magic of pregnancy yoga with you! Read more about me here.
What’s included…
Receive lifetime access to 4 full yoga classes, carefully and lovingly designed so that you can get a taste of all that pregnancy yoga has to offer. Each class builds on the previous one, but can be done over and over again in any order. (Duh, because you’re the boss of your body!)

FAQs
-
Any. I teach pregnancy yoga in a way that is accessible and adaptable for all trimesters. I have found that most people enjoy starting pregnancy yoga from the second trimester onwards, but it’s not uncommon for people to do yoga specifically tailored to pregnancy from the moment they find out.
I don’t subscribe to the view that yoga shouldn’t be practiced in the first trimester. A good pregnancy yoga guide can support you to practice safely.
-
This immersion is suitable for you. The physical movements and postures are gentle, and I provide lots of modifications and suggestions for how to adapt things to best suit you.
The self-paced format is great, because it means you can pause and come back to things.
There is also no “right” way to do these classes. You might skip things that don’t feel good, you might adapt things in your own way, and you might set the classes aside for a few weeks when your body is asking for rest.
You can also email me any questions if you’ve found something confusing.
-
Still okay! Again, I provide sooo many options and suggestions. It might feel stiff, awkward, or foreign to be moving your body again - and that’s okay.
There is no way you can get this wrong.
And the modifications provided in the videos (plus my email support, if you’re wanting further guidance) will help you shape the practice to meet you where you’re at.
-
I recommend having a yoga mat and a cushion or pillow if possible. If you don’t have a yoga mat, you can practice on a towel or on the carpet - it actually doesn’t matter as much as the yoga industry would like us to think!
A cushion or pillow is great so that you can sit more comfortably on the ground, and it can support you during relaxation, too.
You are welcome to include other yoga props (e.g. blocks, bolsters) if you like, but they are not used in this immersion.
-
Nope. It’s okay if you’re doing yoga only for the physical benefits. It’s okay if you’re doing yoga only because you want to relax.
You don’t have to believe in anything in particular or subscribe to any religion. If I mentioned any element of yoga philosophy that doesn’t resonate with you, let it go. Shape the classes in your own way to suit you.
-
Generally, yes. And in many cases, yoga will actually help!
Email me at yoga@shineshakti.com if you’re unsure - I will give you an honest opinion on the suitability of this immersion before you purchase.
There are instances where bedrest may be indicated, or certain movements are best to avoid. If you’re experiencing strong symptoms or complications, consider chatting to a trusted pregnancy care provider or birth team member.
-
Definitely! You don’t need to be hoping or planning for a particular kind of birth.
Many people do practice yoga to support a natural, vaginal birth - but this isn’t the only type of birth that yoga will support. Moving your body, relaxing, improving your strength and stamina… all of these are good for your body and your mind. Not to mention, practicing yoga during pregnancy can support your post-partum recovery, too.
-
It’s up to you. You may find it supportive to discuss the suitability of yoga with a doctor, midwife, or other member of your pregnancy care or birth support team… especially if you’re doubtful or experiencing strong symptoms or complications.
I don’t believe that we need someone else’s permission to move our bodies, breathe, and relax. I trust that you’ll get advice from where you want it and learn to trust your body, too.
-
It varies. I recommend aiming to complete all 4 classes of the immersion within a month. Schedule them in, keep yourself committed!
Doing the classes with some regularity will really allow you to feel the benefits of practicing yoga, and it’s more likely to set you up to continue your practice in some way.
You do have lifetime access to the immersion, so you can take as long as you need. I also recommend coming back to classes and doing them again! You’ll be surprised that from the same class, you’ll get something different each time.
-
Your purchase includes email support from me to customize your practice. We can exchange up to 6 emails, so that I can offer you advice based on your unique body and pregnancy experience. Simply reply to a check-in email or write to yoga@shineshakti.com.
-
You are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of purchase if you complete one full class and realize this immersion is not for you. See full Terms and Conditions at www.shineshakti.com and email yoga@shineshakti.com for more information.
